WidgetBucks making widgetbucks money part 2
So of course by opening my mouth and saying I am going to build upon Joomla good old Murphy's Law had to cut in and make my life hell.
After so many failed unpacking episodes as where I was had a slow internet connection and kept losing the connection. After finally getting it unpacked mind you back at the home office in Sydney by now and becoming a little heated under the polo shirt. Now me thinks we are all good and on our way HA!
It just decided to spit out random .php sql errors pointing towards permission issues I would say. But after a lost weekend just for a tutorial I was ready to burst, add to this the frustration of a IBM laptop that has decided to start having a random resetting issue. I was really over the whole thing, but not to give up I thought to hell with it, Wordpress you just got another lease of life.

For those of you new to the series we are building a little how to make a blog that blogs to dollars, the concept is cameras, and in this case Canon cameras we have registered http://www.canon-camera-shop.com for the demonstration, we have also registered http://www.nikon-camera-shop.com http://www.TheNikonShop.com and http://www.TheCanonShop.com we will walk you through each stage of the development. Here is part one so you refresh yourself Canon Camera Shop - a guide to a blogging to dollars site
No I am not a fan of Wordpress why I hear you all bellow with spiting zest, not because it is particularly bad or anything it is just a bit like a rear end everyone has one and there all smelly. Wordpress is a good solution for bloggers and is easy to setup. It is also with that that I thought well really it would make better sense to make a site based on a platform that most are ether used to, or is easy to get going.
I am the first to say that Drupal is my platform of choice, Joomla has better graphics for administration and generally is a nicer interface but still I believe Drupal is king on the hill and has knock out SEO out of the box and makes many tasks into simple tools. Enough of the promotions. Just as a note for people we often code proprietary for clients and we also use the Peg Board solution and are an affiliated design partner here in Sydney.
Now we are not going to get into much now, this was more of an explanation for doing a back flip on the whole Joomla thing.
To begin with we are going to add a frame work to the site for the range of cameras, and a group blog for reviews and raving from members.
My good friend Michael will also be making an appearance here also known as aenonmouse Michael is a keen photographer and musician I hope you find his rants and tips on photography useful.
I will also introduce you to Bert, our CSS brewer Bert will bring some customization tips and tricks to help you make your site a little different from the rest.
So hang around my keen bloggers for part 3 in Making widgetbucks money when we start to layout the site and get into a bit of what it takes behind the scenes to become a blogging to dollars success.
take care and have a B L O G G I N G good day!
